Project
Phosphate Recovery Plant
Role
EPC Contractor
DCO constructed and commissioned a new phosphate recovery plant in central Florida for Mineral Development, LLC at the location of the former Noralyn Phosphate Mine in Bartow.
- DCO was EPC contractor to develop, construct and equip a new 35,000 square foot phosphate recovery plant.
- The secondary recovery plant recovers phosphate by surface mining from the previously mined sand tailing areas containing recoverable phosphate ore.
- The mined sand tailings are subjected to a screening process that recovers saleable phosphate product (pebble), followed by a two-stage Flotation process to recover phosphate concentrate.
- Tailings material is pumped out to a site (reclamation) which will allow process water to be recovered and allow the de-watered sand to be sold to a third party.
